Candy Cane Classic Basketball Tournament
What: The annual holiday basketball tournament.
When: Friday, December 18, from 9 am to 7 pm
Where: Richmond Memorial Auditorium, 403 Civic Center Plaza, Richmond
Why: For over 30 years the Candy Cane Classic has gathered teams from around the Bay Area to compete for the championship title. Come out to see the teams play and cheer to on your favorite.

KPFA Winter Craft Fair 2015
What: The winter craft fair with over 200 exhibitors
When: Saturday, December 19, and Sunday, December 20, from 10 am to 5 pm
Where: The Craneway Pavilion, 1414 Harbour Way South, Richmond
Why: For those still in need of last-minute holiday gifts, the KPFA craft fair is the perfect opportunity to get unique gifts for loved ones while supporting local radio station KPFA.

The Gift
What: The holiday musical “The Gift” returns to the East Bay Center for Performing Arts
When: Saturday, December 19, at 6 pm
Where: The East Bay Center for the Performing Arts, 339 11th Street at Macdonald Avenue, Richmond
Why: Gathering some of the most talented performers in the Bay Area, “The Gift” is a great way to celebrate the final days before Christmas.

Bay Trail Plant Restoration
What: The monthly plant restoration event at Point Isabel.
When: Saturday, December 19,  from 11 am to 4 pm
Where: Point Isabel, Richmond
Why: Formerly overgrown with invasive species, these regular restoration events have helped turn Point Isabel into a thriving native ecosystem. Come out to help in the effort and to spend some time in nature.

The 68th Annual Charles Reid Holiday Party
What: The tradition of celebrating the holidays and giving toys to local children continues this year.
When: Sunday, December 20, at 4 pm
Where: Richmond Police Activities League Community Center, 2200 Macdonald Avenue, Richmond 
Why: With free toys to over 2,000 local kids, the Charles Reid Holiday Party has been creating holiday memories in Richmond for over half a century.

A Farewell to Chief Magnus
What: A holiday mixer and farewell event for Richmond’s departing police chief
When: Tuesday, December 22, from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm
Where: Hilltop Mechanics Bank, 3170 Hilltop Mall Road, Richmond
Why: After 10 years, Richmond Police Chief Chris Magnus is heading to Tucson, Arizona. This farewell event is a last chance to wish him well while celebrating the holidays.

Freshest Cargo: Mobile Farmers' Market
What: The mobile farmers’ market Freshest Cargo makes its rounds in Richmond
When: Wednesday, December 23, from 10 am to 3:30 pm
Where: Various locations. From 10 am to 11:30, the truck will be at the YMCA located at 263 South 20th Street. From 12 pm to 1:30, the truck will be at Chelsey Ave at Fred Jackson Way in North Richmond. From 2 to 3:30, the truck will be at the Parchester Community Center located at 900 Williams Drive, Richmond
Why: Densely urban environments are often the most difficult places to find fresh produce. Freshest Cargo has a mission to change that, one neighborhood at a time. Stop by for quality food at affordable prices.
