Children of the Camps at the Rosie the Riveter WWII Homefront Museum
What: A documentary film about the children born into the United States' Japanese internment camps in WWII.
When: Friday, March 20th, from 2 pm to 3:30 pm, and Saturday, March 21st, from 3 pm to 4:30 pm
Where: The Rosie the Riveter WWII Homefront Museum Visitor Center, 1414 Harbour Way South, #3000, Richmond
Why: The history of the Japanese internment camps in the United States is a piece of WWII often overlooked by the history books. Visit the Visitor Center to learn more about this history and the children that were born into the camps.

Bead Bazaar 2015
What: A weekend-long annual event that consistently brings together over 100 vendors selling beads, beadwork, jewelry, buttons, tools and supplies.
When: Saturday, March 21st, and Sunday, March 22nd, from 10 am to 5 pm
Where: The Craneway Pavilion, 1414 Harbour Way South, Richmond
Why: Looking for new beads or jewelry for your craft? The annual Bead Bazaar, which has found a new home at the Craneway this year, is the perfect opportunity to stock up on craft items.

Martial Arts Skills for Free
What: Organized by the Richmond Main Street Initiative, this free karate class taught by Master Taylor is open to anyone 6 years of age and older
When: Saturday, February March 21st, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am
Where: BBK Center for Health and Healing, 310 9th Street, Richmond
Why: Promoting self-confidence, strong character, and strong will, this karate class is good for the body and the mind.

Opening Receptions at RAC
What: The opening reception of the Mildred Howard show, “Spirit and Matter” along with another show of work from hundreds of WCCUSD students
When: Saturday, March 21st, from 4 pm to 6 pm
Where: Richmond Art Center, 2540 Barrett Avenue, Richmond
Why: Mildred Howards sculptural work tackles issues of racism, compassion, and injustice. Come out to take in her unique free-standing sculptures and the work of young student artists.

Play Hard at the Shipyard!
What: A free event at the Rosie the Riveter Visitor Center exploring what the Rosies did in their free time
When: Tuesday, March 24th, from 11 am to 11:30 am
Where The Rosie the Riveter WWII Homefront Museum Visitor Center, 1414 Harbour Way South, #3000, Richmond
Why: Life wasn’t all hard work for the shipyard workers — there was also a thriving culture of music and entertainment in the city. Come out to learn about this history!

What: A FREE class on how to find and land a job
When: Tuesday, March 24th, from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm
Where: Bayview Branch Library, 440 Civic Center Plaza, Richmond

What: Richmond Main Street Initiative’s weekly Zumba class
When: Thursday, March 26th, from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm
Where: BBK Center for Health and Healing, 310 9th Street, Richmond
Why: Zumba is a fun, high-energy dance workout, and Richmond Main Street Initiative’s regular Thursday classes are a great time to learn a few moves while burning some calories.

What: The weekly karaoke event at the Point Richmond Pub

Where: The Baltic, 135 Park Place Boulevard, Point Richmond
Why: When else but during a karaoke night can you belt out whatever strange song you may love in front of a room of curious onlookers and it be totally acceptable?
