Where: Civic Center Plaza and Macdonald Avenue, Richmond
Why: The city’s farmers’ market has some of the best produce around. Drop by for some good food, straight from the farmer.

What: Luv Stoned performs at the Point Richmond bar and music venue
When: Friday, June 19th, at 9:30 pm
Where: The Baltic, 135 Park Place, Point Richmond
Why: Live music, good drinks, and a nice atmosphere — the Baltic is one of the best places to relax on a Friday night.

Juneteenth
What: Richmond’s annual Juneteenth celebration
When: Saturday, June 20th, from 10 am to 6 pm
Where: The parade starts at Cutting Boulevard and Marina Way, and the festival is at Nichol Park, on 31st Street and Macdonald Avenue, Richmond
Why: Juneteenth is one of the city’s biggest celebrations. Featuring live music, good food, and celebration of the city’s African American community, it’s an event not to be missed.

Bay Trail Plant Restoration
What: The monthly plant restoration event at Point Isabel 
When: Saturday, June 20th, from 10 am to 12 pm
Where: Point Isabel, Richmond 
Why: Formerly overgrown with invasive species, these regular restoration events have helped turn Point Isabel into a thriving native ecosystem. Come out to help in the effort!

KPFA Summer Arts Fair 2015
What: The first annual KPFA Summer Arts Fair, featuring over 200 local artists
When: Saturday, June 20th and Sunday, June 21st, from 10 am to 6 pm
Where: The Craneway Pavilion, 1414 Harbour Way South, Richmond
Why: Ceramics, painting, textiles, and much more — the KPFA fair has a huge array of work from the area’s best artists.

Mary Monroe at the Library
What: New York Times best selling author Mary Monroe discusses her new book at the Richmond Public Library
When: Saturday, June 20th, from 2 pm to 3 pm
Where: Richmond Public Library, 325 Civic Center Plaza, Richmond 
Why: Author of “God Don’t Like Ugly” series, come out to hear Mary Monroe discuss how she explores the lives of women of color in her literature.

Marina Bay Half Marathon and 5K
What: A run around the historical Marina Bay neighborhood.
When: Sunday, June 21st, at 7 am
Where: The race starts at the Rosie the Riveter Visitor Center and winds its way down to Point Isabel, Richmond
Why: With beautiful views along a historical route, the Marina Bay Half Marathon is easy to enjoy — whether you’re running or spectating.

What: The annual pancake breakfast on SS Red Oak Victory
When: Sunday, June 21st, from 9 am to 12:30 pm
Where: SS Red Oak Victory, 1337 Canal Boulevard, Richmond
Why: The Fathers Day pancake breakfast on SS Red Oak is a tradition. If you’ve never been, this is a great chance to take part and enjoy a delicious breakfast

Zumba on Main Street
What:  Richmond Main Street Initiative’s weekly Zumba class
When: Thursday, June  25th, from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm
Where: BBK Center for Health and Healing, 310 9th Street, Richmond
Why: Zumba is a fun, high-energy dance workout, and Richmond Main Street Initiative’s regular Thursday classes are a great time to learn a few moves while burning some calories.
