Labor to Labor Dinner
What: The Central Labor Council of Contra Costa County's annual dinner celebrating local laborers, leaders, and businesses in the community
When: Friday, September 19th, starting at 5:30 pm
Where: The Caneway Pavilion, 1414 Harbour Way South, Richmond
Why: Awarding local leaders and celebrating leadership and activism in the community, the Labor to Labor dinner is a chance to celebrate the work people do every day.

Costal clean up day
What: The 30th annual California Costal Clean Up Day
When: Saturday, September 20th, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
Where: Meet at the Richmond Shoreline at Shimada Friendship Park. End of Marina Bay Parkway near the intersection of Peninsula Dr.
Why: During last year's event, nearly 675,000 pounds of garbage was collected along the coast. Come out on Saturday and join local volunteers to help keep the California coast clean.

A forum for Richmond candidates
What: A chance to hear candidates for office in Richmond talk about issues in the community
When: Saturday, September 20th, from 12 pm to 2 pm
Where: Hilltop Mall Conference Room, 2200 Hilltop Mall Road, Richmond
Why: Organized by the Hilltop District Homeowners & Stakeholders Association, this forum will provide a chance for candidates to get together and discuss issues that matter to them and respond to questions from the public.

The 30th anniversary of LEAP
What: Literacy for Every Adult Program (LEAP) is celebrating its 30th anniversary
When: Sunday, September 21th, from 12:30 pm to 4:00 pm
Where: 440 Civic Center Plaza, Richmond
Why: Over the past three decades, LEAP has helped educate and inspire adults. On Sunday, there will be free books, music, poetry, and more to honor LEAP's achievements.

California Nonprofit Technology Festival
What: Aspiration's California Nonprofit Technology Festival
When: Thursday, September 25th, and Friday, September 25th from 8:30 am - 4:00 pm
Where: East Bay Center for Performing Arts, 339 11th Street, Richmond
Why: For nonprofits to success in today's digital landscape, it takes some know-how. This event will teach local organizations the tools for success in a collaborative, supportive environment.
