In the aftermath of the closure of Doctors Medical Center San Pablo last month, other West County health resources and providers are more vital than ever. 

Enter LifeLong Medical Care, the nonprofit health care provider founded in Berkeley in the 1970s. It's now opened a new urgent care facility directly across the street from the now closed DMC campus. 

This is a much-needed and highly effective health care provider in our community. 

LifeLong will hold an open house -- everyone is welcome -- from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 9. This is an important event to help spread the word in the community and showcase the medical services that are available across the street from the DMC campus.  

Please come to LifeLong Urgent Care San Pablo between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on May 9 to get familiar with what is there and make new connections.

Among the activities Saturday will be tours, health screenings, a Kids Zone and a Mother's Day raffle. 

The urgent care is located at 2023 Vale Road in San Pablo, across the street from DMC.
