Riveting day on the Bay
What: A four-mile hike along the bay, ending in a picnic at Lucretia Edwards Park.
When: Sunday, November 9th, from 9 am to 12 pm
Where: Meet at Lucretia Edwards Park, 1500 S Marina Way, Richmond
Why: Enjoying the natural beauty of the Bay, learning about natural wildlife, and making your way to the Rosie the Riveter WWII National Historical Park, this adventure incorporates all that the Bay has to offer with a hefty amount of Richmond’s own history, too.

Story time at the library
What: The Richmond Public Library continues their series of story times this week.
When: Monday, November 10th, from 9 pm to 1 am
Where: Richmond Library Bayview branch, 5100 Hartnett Avenue, Richmond
Why: The continuing story times at the city’s public libraries are a great chance for kids to hear entertaining and education stories. Plus, it serves as a free (thought brief) babysitting service.

Veterans Day
What: The annual day honoring and celebrating our nation’s veterans. Our city hosts an event at Rigger’s Loft and SS Red Oak Victory.
When: Tuesday, November 11th, from 10:30 am to 3:00 pm
Where: Rigger’s Loft and SS Red Oak Victory, 1337 Canal Boulevard, Richmond
Why: With a 1940’s-style lunch, a USO dance, and a ceremony to celebrate the individuals who have served our country, the Veterans Day memorial at SS Red Oak Victory is a joyous and heartfelt way to pay your respect.

What: The weekly farmers' market in downtown Richmond.

Where: Nevin Plaza between 13th and Marina Way, Richmond

Building a better BART
What: An evening of discussion about the future of BART
When: Thursday, November 13th, from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm
Where: Richmond City Council Chambers, 440 Civic Center Plaza, Richmond
Why: Including a conversation from BART Board of Directors members about the future of BART, and what keeps the trains moving on a daily basis, this evening will allow for an open dialogue between the public and BART administrators.
