How can this be the fifth round?  What happened to Round 4?  There were several updates throughout the day and a flurry at the end of the day so the 4thround kind of got lost in the shuffle.

Between Contra Costa and Alameda Counties PLUS the state elections sites, things are a poppin.

The Lt. Governor’s race’s numbers were adjusted late this afternoon with only a small number of votes being added.

Alameda County added more than 8,000 votes early in the evening.

Contra Costa County, though, adjusted a couple of their numbers down.  These are minor adjustments but it’s still strange to see that happen.

Strangely, the State’s elections site does not account for the 120 write-in ballots in Alameda County so when the numbers from the two county sites are added, they don't match the state numbers.

Diane Becton’s numbers are still slightly above the 50%+1 threshold that would keep the District Attorney’s race from heading to November for a run-off.  She holds an 89 vote lead over that threshold.

With the 15thAssembly race, Contra Costa and Alameda Counties have a nearly equal number of constituents.  When it comes to the votes, though, Alameda has, so far, outvoted Contra Costa voters by more than two to one.

Oakland City Councilmember Dan Kalb now has a 793 vote lead over third place Richmond Councilmember Jovanka Beckles.  This is the largest lead held by either of these two since Election Night.
