Exciting opportunity – for the first time in history Northern California is hosting a State CERT Yearly Conference – and even better news for us ---- it is right here in Richmond!

There is a small $25 registration fee to attend.  The conference will be held on Tuesday June 30^th from 8:00am to 4:30pm.  Additional preconference training (included in the $25 fee) will be held on Monday June 29^th from 1:00pm to 4:30pm. 

*Conference attendees will receive a copy of the California CERT FOG.  We are also hoping to be able to purchase special California CERT patches in time to give out at the conference (cross your fingers). 

Workshops
We are allowing conference registrants to vote on the workshops that they want to see included at the conference.  Here are the workshops that have been added to the final agenda so far (all sessions are 50 minutes long unless otherwise specified).  Be sure to keep voting on workshops as you register.  Popular workshops may be delivered more than once. 

Preconference Training Day, Monday June 29th

• ·         CERT Train-the-Trainer Annex for Teen CERT (3 ½ hour Certificated Training)
• ·         CERT meeting for Program Managers (this is an opportunity for CERT program managers to meet with State/Federal CERT staff and discuss CERT issues)
• ·         CERT Tools for Leadership Success Module (3 ½ hour Certificated Training)

CERT Conference Day, Tuesday June 30^th

• ·         Disaster Service Worker Volunteer Program Overview
• ·         How to start and maintain a successful Spanish CERT program and/or Listos Program
• ·         CERT for people with disabilities and others with access and functional needs
  • ·         CERT idea swap and program highlights - Games, activities, innovations, and cool ways to deliver CERT basic training 
  • ·         CERT Exercise Planning and Idea Sharing
  • ·         CERT Communication Methods
  • ·         Using technology and social media to enhance your CERT program
  • ·         Ways to further engage your CERT volunteers
  • ·         Building a CERT Volunteer Cadre/Advanced CERT program
  • ·         CERT Tools for Leadership Success Module (3 ½ hour Certificated Training)
  • ·         CERT Traffic and Crowd Management module (3 ½ hour Certificated Training)
  • ·         CERT Firefighter Rehab module (3 ½ hour Certificated Training)
  • ·         CERT Instructor Development – Q & A with CERT Train-the-Trainer Instructors
  • ·         Starting a new program/taking over and or re-energizing your CERT program
