The Richmond Community Services Department is kicking off their holiday food drive with Crafts & Cocoa!
On Friday, December 2nd, join the Community Services Department anytime between 9 AM and 5 PM at the Recreation Complex, 3230 Macdonald Avenue, to help decorate food barrels that will be placed throughout our city. There will be decorating supplies ready for you, courtesy of Point Richmond Music and supplied by the local Mom & Pop Art Shop: various paints, stamps, glitter, and more. End your workweek by tapping into your creative side – and bring in a can or two of food while you’re at it!
To thank you for your support, there will be a hot chocolate bar available to those who help decorate and/or donate food during our event! Dress up and customize your hot chocolate with whipped cream, marshmallows, and other delicious toppings and flavorings. The hot chocolate bar is sponsored by the locally owned Richmond Grocery Outlet on the corner of Macdonald and San Pablo.
The holiday food drive officially launches on December 5th and will run through December 16th. During this period, bring in cans of food and other non-perishables to any of City of Richmond community center, City Hall, or library branches (main library excluded). Your donation will benefit and support the local Bay Area Rescue Mission this holiday season. Remember: you can make a difference!
