A Farmers Market in Civic Center
What: The Richmond Certified Farmers Market
When: Friday, June 5th, from 8 am to 5 pm
Where: 24th Street and Barrett Avenue, Richmond
Why: Fresh fruits and veggies, right at our Civic Center. Stop by the weekly, year-round farmers market for some quality produce.

Intersections
What: A play from Leadership Public School students about the intersection of perspectives from police officers and young adults.
When: Friday, June 5th, at 6 pm
Where: The East Bay Center for the Performing Arts, 339 11th St, Richmond 
Why: Freddie Gray, Michael Brown, and too many more to count: this play is an effort to work through past violence and come to a mutual understanding.

Healthy Village Festival
What: Richmond Main Street Initiative’s 6th annual Healthy Village Festival
When: Saturday, June 6th, from 10 am to 2 pm
Where: Harbour Way and Macdonald Avenue, Richmond 
Why: With giveaways, cooking demos, live music, and more, the Healthy Village Festival is a chance to gather the resources to stay healthy.

East Bay Open Studios
What: A weekend-long open studio event featuring some of the East Bay’s best artists.
When: Saturday and Sunday, June 6th and 7th, from 11 am to 8 pm
Where: Bridge Art Space, 23 Maine Street, Richmond
Why: Bridge Art Space hosts everything from painting, to woodwork, to sculpture. Peruse their open studio to admire local artwork or even pick up a piece to bring home.

Bag Ladies’ Butterfly Blues
What: The latest play from RAW Talent exploring life as a young woman of color in Richmond
When: Sunday, June 8th, at 7 pm
Where: DeAnza High School, 5000 Valley View Road, El Sobrante
Why: The young poets, actors, and playwrights at RAW Talent, the performing arts program at the RYSE Center, have made a name for themselves for exposing hidden experiences in the city. Come out to see their one night only performance.

Adventure Theater at the Library
What: The Richmond Public Library hosts Kenn Adams’ Adventure Theater
When: Monday, June 8th, from 4 pm to 5 pm
Where: Main Branch of the Richmond Public Library, 325 Civic Center Plaza, Richmond
Why: The adventure theater is a great chance for kids to get in on the fun by making sound effects, getting up on stage, and having fun with story time

Historic Film Festival
What: The Historic Film Festival continues with “The Fighting 69th”
When: Thursday, June 11th, boarding starts at 6 pm and the movie begins at 7 pm
Where: Red Oak Victory, 1337 Canal Boulevard, Richmond
Why: Viewing a historic film on a historic ship is about as close as you can get to the real deal. Come out to enjoy a movie and take a trip back in time.
