Safety tops RHA residents’ concerns
Calls for heightened police presence rang through yesterday’s Housing Advisory Commission meeting. Though the monthly meeting was sparsely attended — with just 12 RHA residents present — the tenants were adamant about their requests for more diligent and tactful policing of the Housing Authority properties.

Juan Reardon: Team Richmond Prevails in Richmond City Council Election as Voters Tell Chevron: “No Sale!”
In a “David vs. Goliath” race that garnered national media attention, 3 of 3 Team Richmond progressive candidates were elected to the Richmond City Council. 5 of 5 candidates promoted by Chevron were defeated. Contra Costa County election results (as of 12:16 am Wednesday, November 5) indicated that Mayor Gayle McLaughlin (limited by City Charter to two consecutive terms as Mayor) has won a City Council seat, along with, Planning Commissioner Eduardo Martinez. Vice Mayor Jovanka Beckles was re-elected to the Council.

The restaurant, which is located on the edge of the water in Brickyard Cove, is a hotspot for sailors and adventurers in the area. This irregular clientele is the result of the restaurant's location. All's Fare is a little hard to find, but if you’re willing to search for it, the meal is worth the hunt.

The transformation of Point Isabel
One weekend eight years ago Jane Kelly and her husband, Tom, decided to tear things up at Point Isabel. The land was covered with invasive plants, and they all had to go. Now, several weekends and thousands of volunteers later, the Kellys have started a movement. With their dedication and hard work, Point Isabel — a chunk of land that juts out into the water just south of Marina Bay neighborhood — has become the focus of a growing restoration project in the Bay Area.
